Reminder of what to do if you are feeling ill

I guess it’s just a sign of the times that everyone around us is coming down with something…maybe it’s a cold, allergies or the dreaded “C”. We’ve had numerous inquiries about when it would be safe to book-in for an acu-nap, so this seems like an appropriate time to remind everyone of the guidelines provided by the BCCDC as well as our policies around illness and cancellations.

We are asking clients who are feeling ill and/or have potentially been exposed to someone who tested positive to COVID to STAY HOME. Common symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever, fatigue, dizziness and brain fog. Below are recommended time frames for self-isolation based on recommendations from the BCCDC, for more information, READ HERE.

If you are fully vaccinated

  • You have isolated for at least 5 days from first testing positive
  • Your fever is gone without medication
  • Your symptoms are improving – isolate for longer if you are still feeling unwell

If you are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated

  • You have isolated for at least 10 days from first testing positive
  • Your fever is gone without medication
  • Your symptoms are improving – isolate for longer if you are still feeling unwell

If you are ill, please contact us to cancel or reschedule your appointment with adequate notice.

This ensures there is time for another client to fill your spot and to avoid too much disruption to our schedule and it doesn’t impact the revenues of our small business:

  • If it is before 12 hrs of your appointment, we prefer you cancel online through your JaneApp account
  • Email us @ heartandhands.acu@gmail.com (you will get a faster response)
  • Call us @ 250-590-3185, please leave a message if there is no answer

Use the BCCDC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool or call the nurses hotline at 8-1-1 if you require further medical advice. For more information, please follow the guidelines from HealthLinkBC.

Please go to the nearest emergency room or call 9-1-1 if you are experiencing shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion or your symptoms are worsening.

The policies listed below adhere to standards of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of BC as well as WorkSafeBC. And we thank you in advance for your patience, these policies are subject to change and will continue to evolve based on public health advisories.
