DIY Electrolyte Drinks, courtesy of Sarah Strohan, R.TCMP.

With the weather getting very HOT this week it is important in addition to drinking enough fluids to also replenish all of the electrolytes that our body loses through sweat. Electrolytes are ion-rich minerals and salts that contribute to osmotic balance, they help our bodies optimize fluid levels. The primary electrolytes include sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, and phosphate. These minerals play a crucial role in maintaining fluid balance and preventing dehydration.

We also like to mention that acupuncture is actually a great tool for managing conditions that are aggravated by hot weather including skin conditions, respiratory conditions, CFS/ME, MS, vertigo, edema, pregnancy as well as individuals on certain blood pressure medications and SSRIs! Not to mention that we’ve got the keeping the clinic space cool down to a science so you can also take a break from the heat during a refreshing, restorative acu-nap :)

Let me help you beat the late summer heat with acupuncture and TCM!
