On holding space

Working in community since 2009, I’ve witnessed A LOT in the past 14 yrs, touched thousands of pulses and provided a container for people to unravel and put themselves back together again. I am merely the facilitator, it is the client and their body’s inherent wisdom that does the heavy lifting.

The work lies in truly “listening” and “seeing”, the reading between the lines, the pattern recognition. Your body is a beautiful and sacred organism that contains all of the answers for its own questions. Its true nature is to inherently seek self-regulation and homeostasis.

And since starting the wild ride of pandemic practicing, there has been a distinct and marked rise in folks struggling with nervous system regulation, which is no surprize considering the state of the world :(

I find it particularly rewarding to not only provide clients the opportunity to move out of fight, flight or freeze, but also to support and (re)build a more flexible nervous system. THEN, they can develop the ability to move back towards a regulated state with greater ease, but also developing tolerance to mental-emotional discomfort. Broadening your neurological bandwidth leads to greater self-awareness and reflection and ultimately, the opportunity to live life more fully.

My role as an acupuncturist is to be open to the information your body provides me, then through diagnosis, careful observation and intuition, through needles and verbal guidance, provide a gentle nudge, lay a trail of breadcrumbs to gradually guide your body back to its inherent balance. Then, I provide a safe container for all of this magic to take place.

Results of course vary, but with regular treatment frequency, an open mind and intentional set and setting, I believe those most invested in their future selves will get there, eventually.

See you in a chair,
