A little more about Sarah…
Hello everyone!
I hope you are all keeping warm and getting lots of rest during this Yin time of the year. I have been spending lots of time resting, reading and learning fun new skills to keep me busy!
I’m looking forward to seeing your faces in the chairs again soon!
Here are some seasonally relevant questions to get to know me better!
What are your favourite winter time activities?
I have been reading and watching lots of movies lately just because I have been feeling quite tired! But also I have been trying to find time to connect with friends and go for lots of nice walks and enjoying nature.
What are your strategies staying warm and cozy?
Warm socks, a heating pad, lots of soup and tea!
What is your favorite soup?
I have too many favourite soups but whenever I get sick I make this soup!
It is a brothy soup that you can add all kinds of stuff too! I add lots of garlic, lemon, fresh ginger, fresh herbs and green onion:

What remedies and/or strategies do you use when you are feeling under the weather?
I start taking Zinc, Vitamin C and Quercetin the second I start feeling worn down. I try to dress warm, lots of warm baths, teas and soups and of course resting and sleeping as much as possible.
What are strategies you use to combat the winter blues?
I try to go for lots of walks in nature. Connecting with nature helps me to see the beauty in life even when it’s hard to find. I really love bird watching (check out the merlin birding app if you haven’t already) and also searching for beach treasures!
What conditions to you feel especially proficient at treating and/or find the most rewarding?
I really like treating internal disorders and mental health conditions! I love when I can help people better manage their anxiety, stress, depression and insomnia. But as we all know, It’s all connected! :)
What are some benefits of Community Acupuncture during the colder and darker months?
I think because it’s a darker, more Yin time of the year, a lot of people struggle with lower moods. This is also the time of year that pain conditions can flare with the colder damper weather. With community acupuncture being more affordable and accessible, it makes it easier for people to come more often, which helps you see better results faster and with more longevity!
I hope you found some of these tips and tricks helpful to care for your winter body and perhaps you’d like to include some Community Acupuncture (and Gua Sha & Cupping) into your winter time self-care!
