Community Acupuncture fundraiser: cold weather support for Our Place Society

As the season changes, organizations such as Our Place Society are a vital link to street entrenched individuals who are at risk of succumbing to exposure during the damp and chilly Pacific Northwest autumn and winter. Help us help those without a safe and secure roof over their heads, access to warm, nourishing food as well as seasonally appropriate clothing.

THURSDAYS, 10am – 2pm in October (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th),
25% of Community Acupuncture revenues will be donated to
Our Place Society. Funds will be dispersed to whatever need is most urgent at this time.

Our Place Society has grown from a unique inner-city community centre to nine locations serving Greater Victoria’s most vulnerable, including people struggling with homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use issues, the working poor, and impoverished elderly.

Individuals and businesses provide 50% of the financial support for its programs and services. Our Place provides over 1,000 meals every day plus snacks, 400 units of housing plus transitional shelter spaces, hot showers, education, job skills, health care, addiction recovery services, donated clothing, counseling and outreach services, and a 60-bin storage facility. Most importantly, Our Place provides a sense of hope and belonging to our neighbours in need.
