A HUGE Crowdfunding THANK YOU!!
Hello supporters and allies of Heart & Hands,
We have CRUSHED our $15 000 goal, in fact, we crossed the finish line at $18 071!!
For those who have claimed perks, we will be in touch via EMAIL about shipping and local pick-ups, which is contingent on the ever changing situation with COVID-19. For now, the priority is community safety.
First and foremost, we’d like to send a HUGE THANKS to everyone who contributed, you make it possible for us to continue doing our important work and allow us to take the next steps in the evolution of our organization. And another huge thank you to all the folks who shared our campaign page and all our posts. That brought our story to a much wider audience and has been instrumental in the success of the campaign.
As we close our 5-week crowdfunding campaign, we reflect on HOW MUCH Heart & Hands has GROWN in the last 10 years, the role it plays in our community’s well-being, including our own, the importance of communal healing spaces and why we continue to do this work.
Our transition to non-profit makes it possible to continue offering our vital and affordable services while providing our practitioners with a living wage. It will allow us to access grants, developing a patient subsidy program, as well as building an operational fund.
The funds you’ve helped us raise are instrumental in implementing our plans to expand our community reach and an opportunity for us to also finally upgrade our equipment as well as covering the cost of repairs after the break and enter on March 3rd.
We give a heartfelt applause for the vulnerability and courage of our Humans of Heart & Hands who have opened their hearts and shared their impactful stories with readers near and far. We couldn’t have done it with you.
Sending a HUGE thanks to all the generous individuals and businesses who contributed to our lovely campaign perks including: Luke Connor Visual, Mary Loria Ceramics, KPK Ceramics, Stone Haven Gems, Kate Romain, Daphne Boyer, Aimee Van Drimmelen, Aviva Ciplinski, CST, Dr Brewster Scott ND, Carmelle Lemaistre, R.Ac., Olivia Dreisinger, Fierce Love Farm, Saanich Organics, Belle-Isle Farm, Intrepid Theatre, Twig + Stone Botanical Medicine, Esquimalt Farmers Market, and Eves of Destruction! And a special thank you to Wendy Boyer and Adam Bailey for all their fundraising advice. WE LOVE YOU ALL!
And finally, sending our deepest appreciation to our H&H front desk volunteer, Leslie and her classmates at Pacific Rim College who nominated our campaign, we were awarded $500 from their student community fund!
Thank you all for investing in the next steps of this little clinic who could.
And remember, acupuncture can change the world.
With current updates from the BC Health Minister and the recommendations from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, we closed our doors on March 18th. It was extremely difficult to cancel our remaining clients who are in need of care, but it is the responsible thing to do to mitigate further risk of transmission and we encourage everyone to stay home at this time. We love what we do and will miss you.
Be safe, keep hope, take care of yourself, your loved ones and we will see you on the other side of this.
