Community Acupuncture Fundraiser: Red Cross 2021 BC Wildfire Response
We have officially entered the age of climate crisis.
For yet another year in a row, Western Canada is experiencing another deadly season of mass forest fires in combination with an unprecedented heat dome, which has destroyed hundreds of acres across BC, burned whole towns to the ground and many living in communities all over the interior have been displaced, on standby for emergency evacuation or have lost their lives.
I have chosen to donate to the Canadian Red Cross for our next round of Thursday morning Community Acupuncture fundraising as this organization has a robust and well-established emergency response and can be readily deployed all over the province.
THURSDAYS, 10am – 2pm in August (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th),
25% of Community Acupuncture revenues will be donated to the
Canadian Red Cross 2021 BC Wildfire Response
If you cannot join us, please consider donating directly to the Wildfire Response page, found HERE.
Funds will be used for immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long term recovery, resiliency and preparedness for future events in British Columbia and impacted regions, including consequential events related to the fires.
In addition, donations to the 2021 British Columbia Fires appeal will be matched by the Government of Canada (until August 10) and the Government of British Columbia (until December 31). This means that every $1 donated will become $3 to support those affected by the wildfires.
