A big part of why I want to be at Heart & Hands is because of how they show up for community with such care, with a disability justice and inclusion mindset.

I first got connected to Heart & Hands a few years back through my network of queer farmers on Vancouver Island.

As a immunocompromised small-scale farmer who didn’t necessarily have the income to do private acupuncture sessions, getting connected to Heart & Hands was exactly what my body and mind needed. While my jobs, housing security, and life circumstances have all shifted the past few years, my care at Heart & Hands has been a constant in my life.

Christina and her team continue to support me with changes to health and life circumstances, giving me the space to heal and grow. A big part of why I want to be at Heart & Hands is because of how they show up for community with such care, with a disability justice and inclusion mindset.

H&H also holds a special place in my heart as Christina was so supportive when I was planning the Queer and Trans Farmers Market in summer 2024, donating raffle prizes to sponsor the market. Love the H&H team, and knowing that I can receive care in a community oriented way, ft. the zines and the acu-punks of my dreams <3

Thanks all!

L.T.
